Support Bill C-552 (Internet Neutrality)

This bill has been introduced to protect our freedom on the internet. Please contact your MP and articulate that you support this bill, and that internet neutrality (equal access for all people on the internet) is something that is important to you.

The internet holds amazing creativity, it holds dangers, it holds beauty, and vulgarity. It is the collective. It is humanity.

Dear [Name],

I am writing to express my extreme concern about the recent actions of internet service providers (ISPs) regarding the important issue of internet neutrality. I am dismayed that Bell Canada, along with other industry providers, are "throttling" internet service in order to provide better service to some, while limiting others. This is unacceptable, and I sincerely support the legislation set forth in Bill C-552 that will ensure a free and democratic internet for all people.

The internet should be a free educational resource for all the peoples of the world, and it is clear that ISPs are not willing to continue to provide fair and equal service to all people. I simply cannot state how adamantly I oppose this view; the internet must remain free and accessible in order to ensure that the populace is actively engaged in seeking information and communication on the internet.

Internet neutrality must be upheld in order to ensure a more democratic and transparent mass media. If I found that you do not support this bill that upholds freedom for Canadians, I would be extremely disappointed, and it would likely impact my vote in any upcoming election.

As my elected representative, you simply must listen to the concerns of Canadians, and you must support this bill.

Thank you,

  • Boycont bell. Use a different ISP.

  • A few weeks ago I did what some might deem impossible or unthinkable: I cancelled shaw cable TV. In retrospect it was long overdue. With today’s technology and high speed internet connections, I can watch most of my favorite shows on-demand with little or no extra cost. Ditto for movies, news, and even some sports.

  • CRTC set to impose bandwidth caps on all ISP's in Canada! SIGN THE PETITION! stopthemeter.ca

  • anyone that pays for bell services has to be a RETARD and loves being fucked solid right up the ass-pipe there staff are a bunch of dildo's from looser countries were they have no hope in hell and make little money plus they cant speak English or French

    FUCK OFF BELL

  • They want to take my long guns and now they want to take my youtube soon we will be told how much air we can breath and how much water we can drink .

  • Well people must tell the gov they don't want government involvement because then access to your favorite whistle blower/ anti corruption sites & free speech can be censored, and the internet changed to be "regulated" to pay a blogging license right? The internet is free right now.. any changes would make it less free?

  • there may be massive over sight here manipulation

  • I get Arizona on the other end

  • Thanks for the awareness who ever made this is doing us all a favor, great Job, keep us up to date

  • @SaveTheHumanRace Dont remember exactly where, i just remember looking up reviews and info of differnt isp's and found out primus doesn't go through the bell lines (not in all areas). So i called them up and they checked and told me my area didnt use the bell lines. That was over a year ago, and I havent been throttled since I left Bell.
