I'm gonna do ONE more derivative video before I get my Aria of Sorrow LP back on track. In this case, we're gonna look at another Classicvania game.
In this case, we're gonna be looking at Castlevania: Dracula X, or as Europe called it, Vampire's Kiss. I'll refer to it as Vampire's Kiss for reasons to be stated below.
You all know about Rondo of Blood on the PC Engine, right? Well, we didn't get THAT overseas, but we did get this: A SNES port of Rondo of Blood.
It had a LOT of decay about it. The basic premise remained: Richter "Gimme My First Name Back You Bespectacled Sonovabitch" Belmont goes ot rescue his girlfriend and Maria Renard from the evil Dracula, resurrected by some dickheaded cultists
But the thing is...well, to start with Maria wasn't playable, most of the stages it had were not the same as the PC Engine one and...well, thats all I can find on Vampire's Kiss. In any case though, I feel that this game is a good game on its own.
The music is a pretty good SNES rendition of Rondo's soundtrack, including the version of Bloodlines, which is actually pretty damn good.It even had its own SNES version of Dance of Illusions.
Anyway, I'm gonna have a quick bash through stage 1. this game is actually quite hard, so I do die at least 2 times. Plus its the first time you see the FRAPS fps counter,s o yeah.
In any case, on its own, Vampire's Kiss is great fun, but a fuller experience can be gained from the original Rondo of Blood. nevertheless, give this version a try.
Oh yeah and I called it Vampire's Kiss so people don't get it confused with Rondo.
Heck, you're not the only one who didn't get Rondo of Blood on the PC Engine. I'm actually plan to do gameplay videos both this game and Rondo of Blood next month. I don't know if you know this or not, the SNES9X emulator got a recording AVI option, and also I somehow managed to find a Rondo of Blood game, and you don't need a PC-Engine emu, I'll PM you one if you want one MK.
