In this lesson we look at taking our scale sequences and visualising them reverse lineally, this approach is used by countless guitarists such as Richie Kotzen, Rusty Cooley, Allan Holdsworth, Derek Taylor, Tosin Abasi, Paul Gilbert, Greg Howe, the list goes on!

There is no tab with this video, In this video I also explain the importance of tabbing ideas for yourself, and how it can really ingrain an idea into your playing and understanding of the guitar fretboard.

  • Tosin abasi? where are the altered chords? :(

  • @Jamsessionroom1337 In another lesson!

  • wow this has been very useful! definently going to be supporting your new C.D. :) do you have any videos on string skipping? ive listened to paul gilberts but i cant make much sense of them

  • @NinjaTurtling No videos on string skipping...yet! what are you interested in particularly about string skipping?

  • @SamBellGuitar the mobility it gives. it allows you to take arpeggios and go seemingly anywhere with them! i just really wish i understood the basic concept behind it. what is string skipping? what is musically happening when you skip from string to string?

  • @NinjaTurtling The basic concept is quite simple, but I feel your pain! I shall make a video on string skipping when I get a little free time :)

  • this is great... i had already been doing these with chromatic permutations and then i tried it wit hscales as you do in here and it really made my brain feel weird ahah ....i tried extending the angles too, by adding another angle to keep the pattern moving ( spiral) ....really feels weird for the moment :P
