Absolutely, I am a WWOOFer. I agree with you on organic food and local farms. I just believe that the movement is constantly shooting itself in the foot as a result of irrational demands and differing contentions. Though it is what is unique about the movement, I also think it is a weak point in any movement; the atomizing of thought.

"A diverse group of like mind." A diverse group, certainly. Is the like-mindedness attributed to wanting change? Anger? Utilizing the freedom to protest and speak? What is the proposition? I've seen the proposed list of demands with the 20 dollar minimum wage demand. Do you, in southern Oregon endorse this? It seems to me that most of the philosophical views differ within this movement. How can a movement with differing contention among the protesters themselves sustain itself?
Music is my gift and I offer it to you. I am profoundly grateful for all who stand up and do what they can to help this movement. My album: "An Occupy Album Patti Jo Roth-Edwards Songs of 2011"

I have decided to choose to not be detracted by the people I do not agree with and who do not agree with me. I will do what makes sense to me to help MY world. This is a completely selfish act, to walk my talk not the talk of others. So I am planting the seeds of thought that nourish the things that nourish me. I am excited that this movement has a place for everyone: scientists, politicians, engineers, musicians, gardeners, business people and, yes, the 1%. Going organic is huge! Thank you!

I wanted to also address your question about the $20 minimum wage. I do not believe employers can afford this. Re: differing philosophical views and contentions: As we all focus on the concern that engages us, we are able to accomplish great things. I am very concerned with the dangers of GMO. I fight against this by teaching nutrition and the value of organic farms and community supported agriculture. $100s goes from me toward what I believe in every month by buying local organic food.

What I love about this movement is the opportunity to dialogue. The "like-mindedness" has to do with our shared desire to affect positive change regarding many concerns. We protest the methods that have been in play that have not been working. We utilize the opportunity to speak and share information for consideration in order to make informed decisions. People of differing skills are addressing different concerns. This is a movement of individuals tackling differing issues.
