Playing now on ArtistsNetwork.tv, in this video you'll learn to paint a stunning waterfall, spring blossom scene, puddled landscape and a dramatic skyscape using a variety of clever watercolor and masking techniques. Follow along step by step as Joe demonstrates how to create soft shadows, clouds of mist, sparkling water and shafts of light to add depth and drama to your paintings...he even makes use of old-ruined brushes for wonderful effects.
In this preview, follow steps to transform a body of water into a puddled, tree-lined lane. By painting in the water and reflections first (before the lane), the puddles become amazingly realistic and three-dimensional! Visit www.ArtistsNetwork.tv for access to the full-length video workshop.

Yeah, everyone who doubts this guy's ability should look up his other work. He's a genius, really. He's one of the most competent watercolor painters I have ever seen, and I have studied with some good ones. The nuances he gets in his shadows and particularly his treatment of reflections in water are otherworldly. I'm learning a lot from this fellow. He does have a very bold approach and at times it looks like he is ruining the painting.. But they always come together beautifully in the end!!

I just checked out his book on watercolor painting at the library. I have never seen a better water color painter.

@kris4justice
haha - ridiculous. You should look up some of his paintings and then tell me if he needs instruction on how to paint water.

Not very instructional ---- puddles ended up looking like windows in a skyscraper. Sorry.

Sorry, but this is the worse art instruction video I've ever seen. The artist needs to take a workshop in landscape painting, particularly in how to paint water. For budding artists, I suggest you do not try that technique.
