Camshaft in action : understanding femoro-acetabular impingement (FAI)

Camshaft of static engine demonstrating conversion of rotational movement of the cam into reciprocal movement. In impingement hips the cam comes into contact with the inside of the hip socket so, instead of reciprocal movement, shear forces are generated on the cartilage at the front of the hip socket.
