Commentary on the topic of these videos is fine. Commentary that has nothing to do with these videos and is just people posting the same comments on every video they can find in furtherance of their political aims is not fine. It's a fact that political parties have teams of people paid to leave talking points on every video they can find. I'd call that pretty inmature. And it's not welcome here.

How is talking about Ignatieff's Lesser Evils terror doctrine an off topic attacking point? He did write it. You can't seriously think it will not come up in an election, he advocated torture and defended Bush. It's a fact. Now he's used his ties through Harvard to get to Obama. What's next, using ACORN to influence key voting areas?  Already happening now in a few of our major cities. This is not a Liberal or Conservative issue, It's on the far right, and far left, they use us as fodder.

I may not like the state of the current political arena. The way of Mr Ignatieff's ascension to the head of the liberal party, does not leave me warm and fuzzy either, but this is the politics dejour and its not going to change. That said, one has to rely on the credentials and leadership capabilities of the man in question, and that leaves no question in my mind. Mr. Ignatieff has all the necessary skills needed to execute this office with excellence, and that's all that matters.

It bothers me when the right wing uses "socialism" as a dirty word to describe centre left, as if it were even a possibility.

Ideologically, I don't think they're aware we'll end up in an Orwellian capitalistic theocracy if they had their way.  Worse yet, maybe they do...

Look at standard of living rankings worldwide. You'll find that the more left-wing and government controlled (see: taxed) countries are usually in the top spots.

Government control is necessary in the modern world, there's no arguing that.

Also, you'll find that all the Canadian parties are left-wing. Our conservatives are more similar to the US democrats than their republicans
