  • Isn't old katana. It is modern reconstruction, you know. Historical katana had very bad characteristics, because of lack of good metal in Japan. Also Japanese blacksmiths didn't work too much for one katana, like legends and newbies say.

  • @saksikasi Thats not how mettallurgy works. Having multiple folds resulting in thousands of layers was simply a method refining the ore. Modern industrial steel is of such quality that it renders folding practicly useless, it really only adds to the blades aethetics. O and they have always HAMMERED these folds into the blade xp

  • How strong was the katana I wonder? I hear there are katanas with thousands of metal layers that are much stronger than the ordinary hammered ones..
