Yes. He was off camera. He was a fellow international student, however he only played certain parts.

Are they singing something? If you listen very closely you can hear them under the koto music. I wonder what they are saying.

Yeah, it didn't pick up but we are actually singing a song about sakura in Japanese that talks about the beauty of cherry blossoms falling in winter (basically how its temporary and fleeting)

Shut-up, if you knows the proper Japanese ettiquette (bow down) and plays the Koto really good, then your part of the Japanese community. Dont isolate yourself like some people with the gaijin-complex

I say that because most people would be confused I believe. It's very hard to fit into a very traditional and conservative traditional instrument club when you are gaijin. Some clubs wouldn't allow you in if they were non-university. Actually I was very dismayed that the other gaijin in the club decided to have their own little parties and never went with their Japanese club members.
