in newfounland canada, we make it in cakes, but the recipe is much alike,, we use cloves, cinnamon,, allspice etc. otherwise much the same.

well yes and no, it has all kinds in it but the main part is made from blood that has been stirred in a big vat until it thickens, it sounds much worse than it tastes;-)

Great memories of fry-up breakfasts at my Grannie's house on the Scottish borders in the 1970s. Bacon, egg, sausages, liver, black pudding. A giant garden with a fish pond and vegetable patch, and a washing machine that had to be stirred by hand with a paddle.
