soooooooo what does the flamethrower do?

It uses the Plasma Beam and a constant flow of missiles to literally make a Flamethrower.

It's too bad that the Beam Troopers don't have elemental effects on their beams.  That would have made them a real challenge.

Some of my favorite (and most creative, of all time) graphics are in the Metroid series. They spent so much time in every single detail in the game (melting Space Pirates turning to ash? Hell yeah!) and make everything as creative as possible.

metroid is the best game franchise of all time.
