This is my Palm Pre running with a custom theme on WebOS 1.2.1

WebOS 1.3.1 is due to be out pretty soon.
Ben Galbraith and Dion Almaer have stated that we can expect more speed to come to webOS, courtesy of CSS transformation support:
On ease of use, multitasking has been great; UI latency is still an issue even though the hardware is comparable to 3GS. The problem is the path to the GPU didnt exist, but now with CSS transforms, that will be solved in the immediate future.

This advancement should be confirmed in the next few weeks. WebOS 1.2.1 is fast as it is, with speed increases this should make the OS a dream to use.

The Palm Pre kinda is better than the Droid. The Pre is the most worthy competitor to the iPhone considering that was a big comeback from Palm.

There Treo line never disappointed me... so yeah I think the Pre is better.

If you check out the Droid scrolling kinda does lag

webOS 1.3.1 clocks the processor to 600MHz full plus enables Smart Clocking so it downclocks automatically when not in use...

Pre just needs more apps in it's app Store

  • i think that the palm pre's software is much better than the droid. the palm does a lot of things that the droid dosent

  • Not true, if you hold down the HOME key (or what ever you call those touch buttons) you can see all of your open applications and switch between them. Also in Android 2.0.1 most open applications show up in the ONGOING section of the notification bar.

  • the pre is already running its processor at its fullest so it cant be overclocked but idc

i have a rooted myTouch nd im lovin it

  • Fair enough, but that doesn't mean the pre can't be overclocked as well (I don't have one so I am not 100% sure).

  • haha verizon is getting the palm pre plus

but im on tmobile so idc we got the nexus one

  • with the app overclocker the droid can reach its full potential and multitask better

  • The droid, iphone, and pre all have the same processor, only the droid runs it at a slower clock speed. The droid should be able to multitask almost as well, but it shouldn't be better than the pre. Its also about the way WebOS manages open applications, with android unless you download a task manager you have no way of easily seeing all open applications and have no way of easily going into them or closing them.

  • The full flash player is coming to Android 2.0 as well. Guess it's not really game changing except for that beautiful webOS.

  • The droid has a 600MHz TI processor. It can multi-task like this or even better.

  • hmm.. someone thinks ur high on meds.. haha

  • jaja DJREVENTON dude u r mistaken android is getting flash player before the pre. DROID on verizon is getting flash player in january and on my droid i have ran up to 20 aps at the same time androind 2.0 has let me do all of that and i have not noticed any great preforemence lags as opposed to the pre....so with that said i think DROID is better!
