@woody12377 Oh the popularity probably comes from the anime itself... "cute characters(mahou shoujo)+ good storyline" if you watch it then you'll have an idea why it is so popular. In my opinion I liked the originality of the story, nothing more. But I really recommend it.

@woody12377 It has short duration, yet good storyline, It's not a childish anime as it might look like. Untill the middle of the story it's not so entertaining but then something happens and everything changes. If you watched Steins;Gate and liked then you'll like Madoka too, they are quite similar.
