For anyone who remembers watching KBHK TV 44, as a child, in the late 70's & early 80's, may remember this...

...there is a lot more to it than that...

One of the things I am wondering is:
Back in my childhood, kids 'naturally' did things like "You cant do that you are a girl" (I am not sure, was this post womens lib? i remember 1978...) by nature, a lot of these attitudes are re-inerated by such things as...um...reruns of "LEAVE IT TO BEAVER" & "THE BRADY BUNCH" if you think about it and remember.

Do kids act like that now?

But on youtube, when I stumbled upon this, it brought back some really weird memories. because of its source, this is not like it was on KBHK 44, but it was shown on KBHK but not like this.

My how times have changed.

its called a "BUMPER"

Snipets were a series of 1 minute long short films for children which were produced by Kaiser Broadcasting, and later Field Communications. They ran on Kaiser/Field TV stations and were also syndicated to additional stations in the U.S.

One of the most memorable Snipets was the "Come Back Here" can, which showed kids how they could take a coffee can and a rubber band and create a toy that would roll back to them when pushed.

During its first year on the air, the theme song for Snipets was Popcorn by the band Hot Butter. The opening was soon shortened to eliminate the brief song clip.

Approximately 100 Snipets were produced between 1972 and 1978. They aired until 1982.

A common misspelling of these shorts is "Snippets".

  • SNIPPETS!!! I remember this one! The one I've been looking for was the one from the 70's where a claymation man is sitting in an easy chair, talking about how you could eat anything you wanted, and stay healthy. All the while he's eating candy and cakes, and his body's getting more and more melted and sloppy. Finaly, he gasps "D'oh...what do they know..." as he melts into a mess that pools onto the floor. As a kid, it disturbed the heck out of me. Anyone else remember that one?

  • i remember that but it never gave me the creeps. Let me send you a personal email...

  • @VandalStork YES WHERE IS THE CLAY MAN!!!!!?????

Don rose was on KBHK and KFRC, but the stuff in chicago he changes his voice, in accordance to a underdog/snippets spot they once had on here

  • you probably can't find it but it's true. Dr. Rose broadcasted on Chicago TV. If you don't believe me, go to fuzzymemories.tv and ask Fuzzy for yourself. Oh Yeah we had Creature Features too

  • @MrKrime donald d rose was based in california. cant find anywhere where it mentions he travelled to chicago...

  • I remember Dr. Donald D. Rose as well as Snipets. Channel 32 here in Chicago. He made sure that I was not late for school every day.

  • No disrespect to use Gen Xers who remembers SNIPPETS...But, I wonder if the claymation that was used for SNIPPETS (with all the 50's style) was the inspiration for Adult Swim's MOREL ORAL (next to Davey & Goliath)?
