  • from 1966 to 71 a lot of people think the world was going to change ,in 1972 we realised ,it was finish ,but the music reflected this optimism

  • What a song this was.  I first heard a January 1968 version of "Clementine" back in 1995, when I was going through a severe heartbreak. Man how this song spoke to--and for--me at that time. And Garcia's Gibson Les Paul playing was so spunky, so crunchy, so vital, so heart-ripping, and yet so optimistic.
