  • I cant belive its all out side I would put that stuff in side some were watter and electric ouch but its your setup. I at least build a small shed to keep every thing out of the weather, then would have to worry about critters getting in at all.

  • That is what I though. I started with a shed and had my batteries and inverter inside, but I had trouble with ants, centipedes and squirrels. Also my batteries terminals keep corroding. I was adding panels and batteries to my system and I ran out of room inside my little shed so I put some of the batteries outside the shed until I could build a bigger shed. Then I noiticed that the Batteries outside the shed was not corroding or attracting bugs. I have very little maintenance now.

  • Can i use car battery?

  • @AdrenalinJunky86 Hello. Yes but a Deep cycle Battery is best.

  • Hello. Any deep cycle battery will work. I got my batteries used from a battery recycle store. They are large 6 volts batteries. They were used on a floor sweeper. I have had them for years with no problems. The wire I used is simply car battery cables I got from auto zone. Mark

Can you tell me what kind of INverter I should invest inn. I want to run wind power and solar to my home. I want to have a least a 1000 watts worth of wind and the same for solar. I see you have a 5000 watt inverter. would that help me. I was going to use the 12v set up. Please write me back I have bought a 70 site from you

  • @markp0177 not trying to be too critical of your build but if the batteries are enclosed they are protected from dirt and debris building up on the tops of the batteries and terminals and causing low-resistive paths across the terminals as well as protecting the batteries from the wind and rain. You also need the panels bonded together with a run of #6 copper from each panel frame thru to a ground rod driven into the earth.Your panel connections should be insulated and wired with PV grade wire.
