There is still air drag.
-
@Robomansk8 True, but on magnet trains the rails have magnets too, and its the rail that is going like "+-+-+-+-+" ,that makes it go fast, if it stops train goes slower
-
you would get technical AND get it wrong
-
really awesome animation dude =D
-
daaaamn it's just great

that is koool!

This is actually not right because you wouldn't need to push a hoverboard because it has no friction against the ground. And an object in motion stays in motion unless acted on by an outside force, meaning, until you went uphill or hit something, it would go forever because theres no friction.

Yeah there would be friction. Magnet trains and helicopters and real hovering devices don't float forever just because they have the ability to hover. It would float for a long way, but you would need to push to get any speed in the first place.

@Robomansk8 no, SBxxxStudios is right. What I think s/he is trying to say is, if a hover bored uses propellers to hover above ground, the propellers balance the bored out by outputting equal amount of air but if someone was to step on a side of the bored, the balance would be disrupted and with the propeller still outputting the same amount of air trying to push back up it would go into motion. so there is no REAL friction needed.

@alexgalvan1 Hmm, I get what you're saying, that the power of the board having been on an angle would cause it to propeller you forward slightly and overcome air friction... thats true. There is still air friction though, I always assumed that the hoverboard wouldn't give you any sideways thrust except if you really tilt it. Like it would deliberately angle the thrust in the right direction to keep the board afloat and not drifting incorrectly.

I want to make a game, I've half done it, but controlling it on a keyboard is just hard.
