This video was made in the fall of 2004 when Evy was going into the 1st grade. We made this as an introduction to his new teachers so they would understand him. I'm not sure it was necessary. All his teachers adored him. He has his struggles, but like other children with autism, he is pure and guileless. There is an innocence in his eyes and soul that help him connect to people, and stop them from judging him.

  • your son is a beautiful huamn being.

  • That was really great. My son is 11yrs old year7 at school with HFA. I could see similarities with both. My son too is into the piano, having issues with friends not playing with him anymore. Heartbreaking to watch as a Mum, even harder when its your own child. Thank you for airing that. Tim also as a UTube clip if your interested. Titled: Autism - Timothys speech. Maybe our sons could email one another. We are from New Zealand. Hugs and all the best in your families future.

  • I know this is an old video & maybe you wont read this... but after 40 seconds I am in tears.... my 3 year old daughter has PDD-NOS and we are struggling with teaching her lessons that most people cant comprehend having to teach. I waited over 3 years to even hear her speak the words Momma (pronounced "Nonna") & Love you (Luuu Yooou). Thank you for sharing this video!

  • Evy you are an amazing young man. I have a son that is 13 with high functioning autism. It is amazing.the similarities in them. Keep up the wonderful work with him and know there are other out there that are in the same boat and understand the blessings, struggles and everyday issues.

  • Evy, you are amazing! Keep up the great work!

  • his eyes are sooooo pretty!

  • Thank you for posting. My son is 7 years old and has had the same struggles at school. He loves music as well. Nobody seems to understand high functioning autistic "depression" unless you are a parent or close family member who has seen the struggle. Your son is so much like mine. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOUR FAMILY AND YOUR BEAUTIFUL BOY.
