Sherron Sheppard began her career in photography 10 years ago. After many years as an artist and teacher specializing in watercolors, Sherron has extended her artistic talent to the field of photographic images and digital paintings. By merging the reality of a photograph with the artistic expression of a painting, Sherron has opened up a whole new artistic world for herself and her students. With digital technology, artists are able to explore new methods and ideas as well as give new life to established methods.
Sherron began photographing using unique, contemporary ideas to set her self apart from other photographers in her area. The Professional Photographers of California awarded Sherron 2003 Photographer of the Year - Journalistic Weddings for her creative, journalistic approach to wedding photography. Recently Sherron has returned to portraiture, fine art photography and teaching.
Sherron has won numerous awards for her unique style, including 5 PPA Loan Collection Prints, 4 Fuji Masterpiece awards, A Kodak Gallery Award, 2 Judges Award, 2003 Professional Photographers of Calif. Photographer of the Year-Photojournalistic Weddings, 2005 Professional Photographers of Calif. Photographer of the Year-Illustrative, Professional Photographers of Calif. Spirit of the West Competition, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, Professional Photographers of Calif. State Competition-Best of Show, plus Print of the Year 4 years in a row awarded by both the Santa Barbara and Channel Islands Professional Photographers Affiliates. Her photographs have also been featured on the covers of ProPhoto West Magazine, Winter 1998/1999 and Spring 1999.
Currently Sherron is presenting programs and workshops on the creative world that digital have opened to photographers. These workshops demonstrate how to turn images into artistic works of art by using the tools found in Adobe's Photoshop.
