The 4-0 Oklahoma Sooners entered the 1993 Red River Rivalry rated 10th in the country. The Sooners would hold a 10-3 halftime lead, then set the cruise control in the second half, coasting to a 38-17 win led by senior quarterback Cale Gundy and the thunder & lighting tandem of freshman running backs Jerald Moore and James Allen. The 1993 Sooners would be called the 'Texas State Champs' for beating TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, and finally Texas Tech in the John Hancock Sun Bowl ending the year 9-3.

  • I liked it when Gundy scored that last TD and just stared at the Texas fans.

  • One Longhorn disliked it.

  • @cshsfootball Instant replay review did not come until a decade after this game was played.

  • wait when he fumbled. why did texas not get ball? I'm confused. arent they supposed to review that.

  • Good game.

  • My parents went to this game and my dad got really sunburned. I remember watching this awesome game and thinking I was gonna see my parents.

  • uuhhh...wrong.

  • It's funny to watch Cale Gundy work after having watched the pro-style QBs OU has had since 1999. He looks like a total jitter bug back there.
