@lookat2011 mylar bags do travel better. There is a limit to how much you can carry. For "bugging out" I think freeze dried(if you can afford it) is a better choice because you do not have to cook it and prepare the meal. You can see the Mormon web site and they recommend 200 pounds of wheat per adult per year. Traveling & being self sufficient is a SHORT term situation.I personally try to be self sufficient for a family of 4 for a year. "Bugging out" is not much of an option in our case,

@lookat2011 I use a tilla jar sealer & pull a vacuum in a canning jar. In addition to removing most of the air, I put in an oxygen absorber pack. No leaks, no mice, no oxygen. & you can see what you have. my food is stored in boxes & in the dark.

Could you tell me if you have tasted your re-hydrated peas and corn? I recently got an Excalibur and I heard someone say that their rehydrated peas were not what they had expected, so I'm wondering also about the corn. thanks

A good reminder is to pre-warm your dehydrator about 5 min. before placing food inside. Thanks for your videos!
Hi. Yes, I have tasted my dehydrated corn and peas. I thought the corn was really good. It had a different texture that I liked. The peas were ok but not nearly as soft as frozen or fresh peas.

Hi. Thanks for responding. I did state that in some of my other videos but sometimes I forget to say everything I want to say.
