Following the release of JAWS in 1975 the world was awash with related tie-in memorabilia, among the endless items was a single Super 8mm cine reel featuring a heavily edited version of the blockbuster long out of print.
One of the most notable features about of the Super 8mm edition of JAWS is the opening attack on swimmer "Chrissie Watkins", it's common knowledge that the scene was shot "day for night" for the movie, but less known is the fact that an ungraded version of the daytime shot footage that differs from the final movie appears on the Super 8mm edition.
This discovery was one of the main reasons I originally wanted to convert and view this version of the movie. Obviously due the nature and age of the source material used, the section isn't perfect but I've enhanced the scene to try and present it as clean and bright as the original cine without going too over the top with the contrast and colour correction.
I hope JAWS fans out there enjoy this vintage reel.

Really cool. Nice one Eddy. I have a copy of the 8mm also. Did'nt realise the Chrissy sequence on the 8mm was like that. I even videoed it on my old camera years ago and still did'nt notice it. Just thought it was the film stock getting old. Anyway well done foryour efforts.

Thanks! I've always wanted to see this. I would have loved to receive this as a Christmas gift back in 1977, but I was unaware of its existence. I did, however, receive a Star Wars 200' reel, and I loved it. Jaws (on Beta!) would have to wait 'til Christmas 1981.

I'm curious to see if the sound is bad, off or even dubbed with other actors. I'd love to see Jaws translated to another language and then dubbed BACK into english based on the translation. I've seen a few movies like that and the results are often hilarious.

@darkprose Yeah the footage looks like it's been slowed down. I noticed that too. The lightened shots of her swimming were kinda cool as well.

Frame rate is wrong. It should have been transferred at 24 fps, not 18. This explains why scenes seem longer. Just check the timing on the dialogue scenes against the actual feature.
