Abraham Lincoln speaks out on the issue of Software Slavery. The use of closed-source, proprietary software forces users to be the slaves of software providers. Just as slave owners in Lincoln's time, users of closed source code are told how to use their software, when to upgrade their software, what types of computer systems to put their software on, and how many people can use their software at one time. Free Software allows you to change the software when you need, to tailor the software to meet your needs. You upgrade the software when you want to, not the manufacturer.

Abraham Lincoln recommends that you throw off the shackles of closed source software and experience software freedom by using Free Software!

  • Who be these cultural pirates in the comments that unquestioningly agree with your putting fences around your cultural work (video)? You believe in the GPL which mandates that derivatives be open. So your choice of creative commons licensing is confusing methinks ARRRRRRRRRRRH! Shiver me blind spots! I hope you don't make me walk the plank if I choose to do a mashup of yer vid that ye might find treasonous. ARRRRH! Me hates the plank.

  • I have pointed out in other videos that there are people who might take what I have done out of context and use it against the Free Software movement.

Creative Commons was not designed to replace every type of licensing, but to make simple licensing simple to do.

People wanting to make derivatives of my work may contact me, and I might be willing to dual license the work to allow the derivative.

Yes, I would make you walk the plank for a treasonous mashup. You can bet your eyepatch.
