This is just the stuff I brought to site 8 on my 4/19/11 trip. This gear changes all the time depending on where I am going, and how long I am planning to be there. Make your kit to your needs and skill level, what I carry may not work for you and vice versa.

  • That was great !!!!! 5******. What about sleep/shelter if you had to stay over night?

    Loved the setup. John

There is a large sand bar that was behind where I was filming and sand is a good insulator alone, but if I added some green saplings, and used my hammock for a blanket and had a fire going I would be fine for one night.

  • dont rely on ur buddy to have a first aid. it cant hurt to have extra med supplies

  • @giarrussoj

I patchily built his first aid kit for him, so I know exactly what’s in there and how to use it. And we are always together, but yes nominally I will bring a small one of my own depending where I am going.

  • Here is a reality check. your bugout bag is your life line when Un-pleasantries happen. This Gets you from point A to point B with The basics. Your goal; make it thru the tragedy or crisis safely, rendezvous with your team & and move to a secure location or safe house. Location is key....... keep it simple & smart.

  • good job putting your kit together...Check out my B.O.B. video for additional ideas...firearms at the end of the vid.

  • One of the better packs that I have seen. Always prefer a hammock. I know you can improvise, but you still need a basic medical bag

  • way too many knives dude!

  • Nice kit. Its almost identical to mine except my water bottle is stainless so i can boil in it.

  • That is a great setup. In my opinion though, you should carry a small first aid kit on your person or in your pack, just in case you get seperated.

The MSR Pocket Rocket is a small lightweight backpacking stove, and you can find the pack at almost any army surplus store or you can order a better quality one made by maxpedition, and I think Dave Canterbury is selling them on his site as well.

  • you should carry some type of first aid kit there may be a time where you get split up from your friend in my training everyone istrained to carry there own everything just in case you get split up for your group even if its a small kit just something is better then nothing

  • Nice
