Hi - thanks for the good wishes - much appreciated.
I'm ex KUGB/JKA myself - got my first Shodan wiith the KUGB many moons ago.
I'm also quite familiar with Sensei Ochi as he's bee a regular guest instructor at the UKTKF/STKF Camps - great instructor with a great sense of humour.
Regarding the grading commitee all I can say is that the other two memebers were at least 5th Dan and one at least was a 6th Dan. Fortunately they were all apparently having eyesight roblems that day ;) LOL

Sorry, my ignorance, I've heard of Kawasoe Sensei of course but have never met him. Lucky you, I'm from JKA Germany and for when I took sandan, there were 5 senior Japanese examiners on the panel. Hideo Ochi Sensei's, who is 8th dan, is our chief instructor but he's not allowed to grade at sandan level on his own. He needs four more senior guys like him to form a panel in order to grade us. Anyway, congratulations on passing sandan.

Chief Examiner was obviously Sensei Kawasoe.

Thanks for posting. Just curious, which association is this? Only 3 examiners needed for sandan grading?
