I like running 5ks but not on the track. That's why I like cross country. The 5k is the longest race I'd ever run. Anything longer I get too bored... and tired.

There is no such event as 5000 in Olympics and WC. There's three 400 meter events. The 400 meters, 400 meter hurdles, and 400 meters with a 4600 meter warmup. Sometimes there's a 400 meters with 1100 meter warmup too.

One WC was won by Lagat in 13.46. Championship 5000's are almost never good races.
