The Progressive Rock Orchestra live at the Wellington Pub on 05/05/11 performing "Son of Mr. Green Genes" by Frank Zappa
Dan McCoy - Bass & Vocals
Bob Vasseur - Keyboards
Dennis Sheridan - Drums & Percussion
Steve Adams - Drums & Percussion
Rick Mattle - Guitar
I believe this was their 1st time performing this song live, and I thought they did a fantastic job.
That solo was friggin' awesome. Frank Zappa's guitar work is very tough to re-create, and guitar player Rick absolutely nailed it with a very faithful Zappa-esque style rendering. And believe me, F.Z. is my all time favorite rock guitar player & composer, so I am pretty harsh & critical on those who attempt to play his music. The keys were spot on too. Good choice to play fella's!

@chiken420 Thanks for the comment chiken. It's a shame how many people of the newer generations don't like, listen or even know about some of the older rock music that paved the way for so many bands of today. If it wasn't for bands like Frank Zappa, King Crimson, Rush, ect. then there most likely wouldn't be the bad-ass metal bands that people like you & I, and so many others listen to! I believe all fans of rock/metal should know the roots, and give respect where it's due. Rock on!!
