High Fructose Corn Syrup, also known as HFCS, glucose-fructose syrup, glucose syrup, fructose syrup, glucose/fructose, high-fructose maize syrup or corn sugar is a corn-based sweetener that is used in thousands of food products such as soft drinks, fruit juices, ice cream, candy, baked goods, cookies, ketchup, soups, salad dressings, breads, crackers, etc.

HFCS is a mixture of fructose and glucose, and is used by food companies because it is cheaper than sugar and gives food products a longer shelf life.
HFCS is responsible for a host of health problems such as obesity, high cholesterol, insulin problems, type 2 diabetes, liver damage, hypertension, high blood pressure, heart disease, cancer, migraines, ADHD, etc.

HFCS often contains mercury which can lead to brain disorders!

Corn, the source of high fructose corn syrup, is often genetically modified, which also carries serious health risks!

Glucose is used as fuel by the cells in our body. In contrast, fructose can only be metabolized by the liver which turns fructose into fat. When consuming fructose, 30% is being stored as fat! Fructose, in contrast to glucose, has no effect on appetite, which results in overeating and obesity.

The fructose found in fruit and in some vegetables is actually quite healthy as it contains fiber, vitamins, minerals, enzymes and beneficial phytonutrients. The fructose found in HFCS, contains no nutrients and leeches them from the body! HFCS hinders the absorption of minerals such as magnesium, copper and chromium and affects the receptor of insulin, leading to type 2 diabetes. HFCS causes high cholesterol and impairs the immune system.

The food industry is trying to convince us that High Fructose Corn Syrup is natural, equal to sugar and therefore perfectly safe.

Do no longer believe the lies of the food industry and the 'main stream' media. Contrary to what so-called 'health experts' claim, HFCS is NOT safe!
Avoid HFCS for 60 days and discover how your health will improve dramatically!

Other forms of fructose to avoid: crystalline fructose, chicory, inulin, iso glucose and Agave syrup, a highly processed sap that is almost all fructose.

Healthier HFCS alternatives:
Organic raw cane sugar, organic maple syrup, raw honey and Stevia, the low calorie, all natural sweetener, used in Paraguay for centuries.

pretty fat for a cardiologist. maybe get on a treadmill and you can eat what you want, work it off you people worry so much the oxidative stress alone makes you sick. calories in calories out. fat stores when there is EXCESS calories from sugar or carbs and you don't exert energy that matches you intake.

@haven600 When people avoid High Fructose Corn Syrup, this does not necessarily mean that they are in great health!
For example, people who eat a lot of animal-based products (meats & dairy products) and consume other poisons such as MSG, aspartame or trans fats will not be in optimal health!
HealthRanger7 2 months ago
@HealthRanger7 people that run around all day workout and push their physical bodies deserve to eat whatever they please cuz we are designed to break down saturated fats meats and all the extra calories from milk etc, its the sedentary desk jockey that should avoid those foods since their metabolic rate is a snail. btw your body is made of amino acids apartic acid and phenylalanine among other complete proteins, we have 115 grams of chlorine in the human body as a necessary component to live.
haven600 4 days ago
@haven600 Yes, phenylalanine is a naturally occurring amino acid, but not free-flowing and in the huge amounts that are present in aspartame!
The methanol in fruit is bound to pectin and therefore goes through the body without any problems. However, the methanol in aspartame is NOT bound by pectin and is very dangerous!
Please watch the film Sweet Misery to learn more about the effects on the body of free-flowing methanol, phenylalanine and aspartic acid present in aspartame.

SUGAR IS SUGAR whether its from corn or sugar cane.
overeating hfcs is bad. but so is overeating sugar from sugar cane.
people need to understand this.
overblast0000 2 months ago
@overblast0000 Not all sugars are equal!
Glucose (derived from carbohydrates and 'normal' sugar) is used as fuel by the cells in our body. In contrast, the fructose derived from HFCS can only be metabolized by the liver. As a result, when consuming fructose in HFCS, 30% of it is stored as fat! In addition, fructose, in contrast to glucose, has no effect on appetite, which results in overeating and obesity...
