I'm not here because of SongPop, I'm here because I like Can.

I don't really want to stray too far into metaphysics here but yes, you could argue that about any band. Every band could be considered influential to some degree, if we define "influence" as resonance in the mind of another performer. That's not exactly the point, though, is it? We're talking bands that are considered influential on a widespread level, such as Can, who developed numerous unorthodox ways of both performing and producing their music.

Surely though you could argue that about any band though? If you try hard enough, you can hear something that's already been done in most pieces of music, for example i can hear Led Zeppelin in that bass drum in this track

They were actually pretty darn influential. They were trying all kinds of new things; nobody sounded like them then or since. Many bands admit that they have a little bit of Can in their style but no one really sounds like them.

serieusly? 1 of the most influential bands of all times, they had a minimalist psychedelic style, and formed the subgenre krautrock. not to hate or anything, im a big fan, but that's just plain exaggerating.
