let a page dry thoroughly before turning to making following pages; while drying, just shove wax paper in between the finished leaves once your paint is dry; when you glue something down, wipe around its edges with a damp paper towel to pick up any glue that squished out. Double stick perm. tape works well, too.

I'm not sure what you're referring to; can you be more specific? Inserts can be regular mailing tags, with their straight ends pasted in between two book pages which have been cut down to about 1 inch wide. Leave the tag hole ends, and their strings dangling and use them to turn the page. Otherwise, just cut pages down and they'll look like you inserted something there, when you've finished.
