@ionfreak93 - You don't. The engine is cooled by air coming up underneath and out through the engine lid. Putting a scoop on will just push that hot air back into the engine. Not cool.

i see that you use mines ecu. how is that? isnt it programmed for 93 octane? can you still use unleaded?

@KCstreetRacing - No mate. It's mapped for 100 octane (the standard in Japan - where it was mapped). Here in the UK we can get up to 99 octane so it still runs ok.

I've been meaning to ask for a while now but never got around to it... what is the width & offset on your front & rear wheels? Also, what are the dimensions on the tires too? I really like the way the car sits on them. Having a hard time finding these in the states last time I checked 1/2 a year go. Is your 3S-GTE a 2nd or 3rd gen? Thanks for putting up with my rambling :P

@velisma - Front: 8inch ET33 - Tyres 215/40/17. Rear: 9J ET43 - Tyres 245/40/17. The car is a 2nd Gen. I played around with various spoilers including the Aeroware, but finally took the plunge and went for the Rev5 combat spoiler as it's my favourite - required filling the holes left in the rear quarter panels and respraying. I prefer the Gen2 engine as it seems to put out 20-30 lb.ft more than similarly tuned Gen3 engines.

@Mubble I never would've guessed a 2nd gen. putting out more torque than a 3rd gen. I'm guessing the 20-30lbs/ft torque is found lower in the RPM range as a result of the TVIS? or is it the Mines ECU that does that through out the whole power band?
3rd gen. are all the rage right now but after some research I've been seriously considering a 2nd gen. Financially it just makes sense.

@velisma - I think it's due to the design of the head. All rev1/2 do it. Mine puts out 290 lb.ft whereas similarly tuned (in terms of bhp) Rev3s hit about 260 lb.ft. And we all know torque means acceleration. Rev3s are better for extracting bhp though. Given the choice again I'd have a Rev3, but budget at the time meant Rev2 was my only option.
