i tried that once, it wont start if it doesn't recognize the key so you don't have anything to worry about. My immobilizer (the sensor that reads the key) went out because a few blew and it wouldn't let me start the key because it couldn't read the key. That would also we something that the people at saab would have thought about, common sense really.
