Ich dachte eigentlich, Deinen Kanal zu kennen - aber nein, da taucht was Neues auf, so cool. Wann spielst mal was mit steel ein?

this is a so called partscaster, i built it to my specs from parts i bought here and there.
it`s actually an esquire, a single pickup telecaster.

Nice job. Real nice mids and highs . My dobro is also a Reed. It is #84. Solid magogany. About ten years ago, I had the tuners and coverplate and tailpiece plated with 24 carat. I also put in timeless maple saddle inserts. I record with a KSM-32, and get a real nice sound with it.

Is that a REED resonator you are playing?

This instrument was built in the mid- 80s by Bob Reed.
This is definetly the last instrument Bob made before his shop went up in flames.
Body is made of mahogany.

Martin,
First of all, you are a great reso player. I've been playing nearly 30 years and I know great when I hear it. I have a REED guitar also. I picked it up directly from Bob Reed about 2 months before he passed away from cancer. You are right though...his shop was gone from the fire and he was working out of a large shed behind his house in Wynette, Oklahoma. The guitar I picked up was I believe the very last one he ever built because I saw no others in the shed anywhere near completion.

The only thing I know is that when the shop went up in flames my guitar was not finished. I had to wait for another coupple of weeks until Bob was able to finish it. Anyway, finaly I`m glad to have on of the last Instruments Bob Reed made.
