Psychedelic Welk

Things got trippy and groovy on Lawrence Welk the other night. Bobby and Cissy do the dances of the day and I was amazed they put the flashing changing colors over them. That must have made a few Grandmas and Grandpas change the channel. Dig Bobby's Nehru jacket. Right before they started to dance, Cissy ripped off her break away ball gown to reveal this mini. It was quite shocking. Bobby must have really put the screws to Lawrence that week to get hip and with it because I had never seen such riotous behavior. Oh that nutty rock and roll!

I watched this Lawrence Welk show episode from 1969 last night on Mississippi Public TV. This was part of Bobby and Cissy's routine of dance styles through the years. After Bobby revealed Cissy's silver dress, he said, "Gentlemen, that's all you get to see". This was 10 years after Alice Lon got fired for showing "too much knee" according to Mr. Welk.
