Reuters:

Springsteen stopped halfway through the three-hour show for a short speech:

"I want to tell you I'm not here for or against any government," Springsteen said, as he pointedly introduced his rendition of the Bob Dylan ballad Chimes of Freedom.
"I came to play rock 'n' roll for you East Berliners in the hope that one day all the barriers will be torn down."

    don't forget the byrds.

  • @Vinc90 I did not know that. Thanks for the information!

  • @rpm0494 Did you know that he said it in German? originally he wanted to say "Mauer" (Wall) but right before the concert the translator said he should rather say barriers because referring to the Berlin wall that directly would be to dangerous.
