Every summer from mid August through mid September, I have been picking blackberries and storing them in our big freezer to use later throughout the year to have with cold or hot cereal for breakfast. I eat the r3eal ripe ones as I pick them, which is my favorate way of eating them when they are the freshest. I do not use them to make pies or cobbler.

  • I picked some more but didn't have the heart to cook them, then strain them, then add a pile of cane sugar to them. I ate a few and have frozen the rest to cheer me up some other time.

  • Nice film. I like it when people talk about berries. I went picking with my neighbour last monday, we got pounds of brambles, I made my first ever bramble jelly with them, but because my kitchen scales are cheap they don't work well and it ended up with far too much sugar in it. It set as hard as road tar and tasted like barley sugar. You couldn't even taste the brambles. I felt sad to have wasted so many, but 'm going to have another pick and try again if there are enough left. Wish me luck.
