maria callas is a miracle-best years-she was perfect-i discovered her on records-

This must be live from La Scala 1955 under Bernstein. He had also conducted her Medea in 1953. One ASSOLUTA singer for both these roles! Tempo is slow and occasionally shifts. She sings the whole aria mezzavoce, what he later described as a "pianissimo a la Callas", admirable breath control and diminuendi, listen to the simple, sad elegance of the phrasing. This is the miracle when one listens to Maria in her prime, that she gives OF HERSELF on stage. And I ask you, who sings like this today?

@callas777 Thank you.

She fulfilled her Karma and service to humankind and to God. She is the ultimate artist/singer/actress. A great heart, mind, soul, voice and technique. She communicates so fully, she gives us her blood, tears, bone marrow, and life spark. her pianissimmos bring me to tears.
