Constructing a Zero Energy Carbon Neutral Building

The EarthCo Megablock process was used to construct a Zero Energy Carbon Neutral (ZEB) building which serves as an Environmental Education Center for Girl Scout Camp Rio Blanco in Crosbyton Texas. This building was the dream of Girl Scout Sarah Jo Lambert (visionisgreen.org) and was her gold award project. It features a passive air induction system that moderates air temperature by precooling air in summer and warms air in winter. A solar powered attic fan helps ventilate the building for excellent indoor air quality. The 18" thick EarthCo Megablock walls help to moderate air temps to the point that no mechanical air conditioner or heater is required to keep the building comfortable. This allows a small renewable energy source to supply all the power required by the computer, projector, and TV for teaching environmental education to the kids of West Texas. It has a solar powered radiant floor heating system, reused roofing shingles, natural clay interior finish, earthen floor with recycled tire cover, rainwater collection system which waters plants and animals and improves the local habitat. Tripled paned low E windows and doors with soy based foam insulation on the ceilings. This was an all voluteer project and it was EarthCo's honor to participate.

I'm curious about the cost as well of a building that size, of course I know transportation to the site, depending on your distance from there home base would ..add substantially. Be nice if they'd respond to you.
