FINALLY SOMEONE GETS THE CONCEPT OF WINGS!!! You won't believe how many people make wings smaller than the creatures own body. You did an excellent job on him. Couldn't have been better.

how big wings does it need?

big enough to fly; just think about how a dragon (assuming its bones are hollow of course, but not all of a bird's flying aspects) 's wing would be compared to a bird in size; they'd be quite big. same with pheonix here, fire isn't gonna move air easily =P
