Melrose Place 2009: Show preview and cast gossip

Hey TV Junkies! I'm Joslyn Davis for Clevver TV coming to you from our Bev Hills studio. 90210 hit it big last year with its return to the small screen and come next season the show will have company from another 90's hit! They made apartment dwelling in Los Angeles sexy, dangerous, and oh-so attractive and now it seems Melrose Place will be filled with a whole new group of hot, young stars.

I have to admitt that I wasn't all that jazzed about the upcoming remake, until I learned that noneother than Ashlee Simpson Wentz will be joining the cast. The new mom wanted a job that would allow her to be close to three month old son Bronx Mogli. The singer will join "Supernatural Star" Katie Cassidy and "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" actor Michael Rudy when the show makes its big debut. About her move back to TV Ashely says that she's thrilled to be joining the cast of Melrose Place and becoming a part of its new generation of residents! Ashley will be playing Violet, a small town girl who moves to LA with a secret...the show hasn't even started shooting and fans are already hooked!

And many of those fans have their fingers crossed that some of the orginal stars will reprise their roles on the show's reincarnation.

SO, Will Marcia Cross ditch Wisteria Lane and head back to her old digs at Melrose place? Not too likely. I saw the lovely red head at a recent red carpet event in Los Angeles and when asked if she would ever return to the show that made her a household name, she just laughed. And let's just say it wasn't a laugh of excitement-it was more of a laugh that said "are you kidding? yeah right!" I think it's safe to say, Cross will be staying put on Desperate Housewives. Her co-star Felicity Huffman strongly suggested that Cross should actually avoid Melrose. Plus, let's not forget that Cross's character was killed off the show in 1997, so unless a full-fledged resurection in is the works, I don't think we'll see her on Melrose Place.

Courtney Thorne Smith is another Melroser with NO PLANS of returning to her roots. IN a recent interview Smith said that she thinks the new show is really for the younger generation, but she also went on to say that she'd never say NEVER. However, She is open to a reunion show with her original co-stars. Although Smith notes that because they all have kids now, they'd have to shoot at Chuckie Cheese-now that could be fascinating!

Fans will be glad to know that bombshell Heather Locklear is in early talks with producers about returning to her role as the witch-in-heels Amanda Woodward, but nothing is confirmed as of yet. And then of course there's Lisa Rinna. The lady has no shame-she's basically begging to get a part on the show. She says she's hoping that everyone else says "no" so that producers will finally ask her to do the show. With the way negotiations are going so far, it's highly possible we'll be seeing her return to Melrose Place.

Producers are still casting roles for the sure-to be hit- which will air on the CW network, but that's all we have when it comes to details. So, what do you guys think? I hated Taylor (Lisa Rina's character). She annoyed the fuck out of me. All that lying and backstabbing. Nothing but drama queen. And for the record Sandy could not act in the first season. I'm glad they got rid of that girl. She was terrible. She lasted for about 7 episodes. Pathetic. lol. Yeah i didn't like Allison's character. So wishy washy. I didn't like that garbage. Everytime something exciting in her life happened I knew she'd do something to fuck it up.

Are you kidding? Sandy was probably the most irritating character ever! I was so happy that she left for her TV role. I think Alison was an awesome character. Billy, however was incredibly annoying IMO. He was a paranoid and deranged character.

To honest, I'd rather not see Allison back on Melrose Place because she was a pain in the but and she was the most confused person out of the bunch who was indecisive of who she wanted to be with. So I basically just ignored the character after season 1 lol The only person that had any brains in that apartment building was the lovable Rhonda and Sandy
