  • This is a great video analysis on the match-up. I wish there were videos like this for every match-up. I'm assuming you guys will be releasing more of these? 'Cause this definitely helps.

  • @YamiBikutoru There will be many many more of these in the future. Right now we're more focused on getting our character tutorials out (check out the channel if you haven't seen them yet). But once we get those out of the way, this will be the main strategy series, and we'll be covering as many different characters and matchups as we have the knowledge for.

  • Can any character with a hitbox smaller than abel make honda's lk splash whiff like that? or is that special to abel alone? IE, can I try this with Ibuki or Ryu? I think if hitbox size were the case, dictator would be too big?

  • @Koncept101 I'm unsure. Unfortunately, I haven't had the time to test it with every character, only with Abel. But there's a good chance there are other characters this works with. If you test it, please let us know how it goes.

  • Just wanted to add that EX TT beats 2nd part of buttslam also, though the hitbox shit is better

  • @jeffhizzle Actually, you're not 100% right, but that idea is what led me to find the whole proximity avoidance trick to begin with. If you do reversal EX TT after the first hit, the TT comes out too soon and both moves whiff. When you do it non-reversal, you're actually using the technique for avoiding proximity blocking...you just might not realize it. Since you're inputting the motion for the TT, you're not blocking (especially since TT starts at forward)

  • i must say, you guys have the best tutorials/strategy videos i've seen. Different scenarios with explanations on practical strategies and theories shown on video makes me happy. A lot of people online can say you can punish honda's buttsplash with abel's super, but it's great that you guys put the work into it and actually show how to do it. keep up the good work. cheers!

  • @tuber52 Ah ok that's how you meant it sry : D Concerning the rufus dive kicks: I'd also say that you should keep away from that, since he can always vary the height and mix it up with other stuff, and I don't think that standing there non-blocking will get you killed a lot faster.

  • @digggert ohh what i meant was can i do this for HK buttsplash for exp. also i was lurking aroundo n srk and found out this applies to low rufus dive kicks which are any divekicks that are lower than abel's hands. but that sounds way more dangerous to try out

  • @tuber52 proximity blocking always "starts" when the enemy executes a move within a certain range of your character. In this case, you can make great use of it, because going into blocking stance in that situation enlargens your hitbox. Standing still will make the lp splash whiff entirely. I don't know whether there are other moves where you can use that kind of trick, but the probability of additional tricks like that is high I assume.

  • @digggert does the proximity blocking only apply to lk sumo splash and nothing else?

  • the proximity blocking trick was explained rly good and also is extremely helpful. but it's so hard to get used to it since you always tend to block.

  • what is the title of this song?!?!

    its sweet as shit!

  • @OptionSelectDotCom i know im getting pretty god damn banal but post some makoto lol :D

  • @Koncept101

If you block the first hit of LK Buttsplash standing, the second hit will almost always whiff.

  • So, Ryan Hunter seems to like the green color? :) His Cody is always in green and white (I think), and now Abel too? :)

    BTW, excellent vid!

  • simply amazing lol.
