In the middle of the night on summit night was worst. I think it was about minus 40 with the high wind.
After sunrise, in the valley between the peaks, it felt like forever waiting for the sun to rise far enough that we'd get out of the shadow of the 2nd peak.
But once the sun came up it was fine for us - at the summit it was actually sunny. (as you can see in the video)
Not everyone is so lucky. The day before our summit attempt a huge storm rolled in with very little notice
