The Cover Girls - Promise Me

The video shoot for "Promise Me" was awesome, the beautiful Viscaya museum in Miami. This was the first time anyone told me I had a great walk. Once again they dressed me in white and made the video outdoors to work my eyes. They also put my hair up feeling at this point it was a trademark for me. I never said anything, but I was so self conscience about my ears. I felt they were huge and stuck out. They asked me to trust them so I did, and it worked out great. The scene where we're running, you'll notice I'm not wearing a hat, well, it was too big for my little head. They had to improvise and took my gloves off and and used them to tie up my hair, Bam! another fierce creation. Promise Me was when I became 21 it was a very memorable time for me.

Unless you lived in Miami/Orlando/New York/Chicago/So.Cal/AZ/Texas in the 80's,you were probably not going to here much freestyle music,as top 40 radio programmers where hesitant to play the records unless a particular song got into the top 10 or so,nationally. Back then there weren't as many Hispanics,nationally,and their thinking was that pop and good r&b songs would do better with white and black audience target groups. Sadly alot of these artists are hardly known in certain parts of U.S.
