The famous Tenor/Baritone duet from The Pearl Fishers is performed by John McCormack and Mario Sammarco. It was recorded in 1911.

  • Heavenly singing from McCormack. Like an angel.

  • Only bettered, in my view, by Edmond Clement and Marcel Journet - two Frenchmen singing in the original French.

But here Sammarco sound a good bit further from the recording horn than Mac - what a glorious top B flat JMcC had at this stage in his career!

  • Thanks for this. It is one of my favourites.

    Mac at his glorious best.
