As Captain Cook said when off the coast of Australia: "they're are many Aboriginals obviously excited to see us. However, we shall err on the side of caution...AND SHOOT THEM !

Nice work omar, this is a really good clip considering the weather. Would be really interested to see some of the other interviews from the day when you have time to edit them and put them up.

If pakeha were given the chance to hear directly from activists, like Teanau Tuiono, they would probably find they have a lot of common ground with the Tino Rangatiratanga movement. Like many so called 'radical Maori' many pakeha are also concerned about foreign corporations buying up NZ, genetically engineering of our crops and that type of thing. Good work Omar!

Unfortunately quite a few Pakeha get really jumpy whenever you talk about Tino Rangatiratanga. They mistakenly believe it is about Maori seizing control of the NZ state and then creating some kind of scary Apartheid state where only Maori have a say in how things are done. I think the only reason these views persist is because the mainstream news media only gives sound byte analyis of the Maori struggle and never let Maori activists fully explain themselves.
