I have never heard of this band before, so who did I ask? Wikipedia of course
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poco

Hah, very funny bit of information about the name. First they tried Pogo, but cartoonist Walt Kelly said No way!

  • nice video! Furays got the pipes ....Paul Rocks!

  • this is w/o a doubt my fav version of POCO. Strong vocals and some killer songs.

A "feel good" vibe from the whole band. Saw them once at Cow Palace in SanFran on NYE w/o Richie right b4 TB went to Eagles. He was wearing an Eagles t-shirt that nite...Imagine that! Thx for posting...

  • @landrykkb You are absolutely right! BobbyK

  • @bobby7771117 got my vote! Think the problem is so many changes...Furay, Messina, Meissner, Schmitt, Cotten...what the hell...induct anyone who played in POCO

  • Poco, Lost their sound after Jim Messina left. Richie Furay did a fantastic job just getting this talent together. Most talented American band at every instrument barr no one. Well..........maybe second to Buffolo Springfield. They didn't have a steel player like Rusty!

  • The Eagles used to be Poco's opening act!

  • These guys were playing at Madison Square Garden & Shea Stadium before the Eagles even existed, in 69-70.

  • @ChasBeauregarde You betcha!I love the Eagles, but they do get way too much of the credit for being innovators of the country-rock movement.Rick Nelson's Stone Canyon Band,Mike Nesmith, the Byrds,Flying Burrito brothers, and Poco are whom I think of when that's mentioned, either altogether or individually.

  • Timothy B.Schmidt...great voice, traded to the Eagles in their twilight

  • This band should have been as well known and loved as the Eagles-whom I also love! But it is a travesty this awesome band was never given the recognition it so deserved! They should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, easily! They paved the way for this kind of country-rock! Peace, BobbyK
