This is a basic example of how I master tunes in Reason.

The mastered tune doesn't sound as loud as it should. That's the screen capture software's fault ;P

  • this is a very handful tutorial. the only prob i sometimes have is that when i playback a few of my tunes to master, i get a message that says my computer is too slow so it's extremely difficult to master when i can only listen to certain bits at a time. very frustrating :( cheers 4 the tutorial

  • @heatphaze In your preferences menu, try setting your CPU usage limit to 'none'

In the audio tab of the preferences, look to see what sample rate you're running at. If it's at 48,000, it might be that your computer can't quite handle it. Try turning it down to 44,100- this will affect the sound quality a bit so you have to weigh it up...

  • this is just a simple quesiton but I can't find any answers: how do you get the devices and track lanes in different windows, so i dont have to drag the track lane thing down to edit the devices and vice versa. It would give me more space also, thanks.

  • @itzcoolbeans There's button just above the scroll bar on the top right which separates the rack from the sequencer.

  • Can you Create the Mclass in the Main Mixer? not sure if thats what you did but it looks like it

  • @flokid11 Nah Ive got it sussed now man, I use soundforge with Ozone 4 to master my tunes. I do normalize first in Soundforge to take out any high peaks which allows to push it further in Ozone.

  • @deejaystatue Get Adobe Audition and throw your WAV in edit mode and normalize it, job done.
