@SWO4LIFE2 He was probably the highest drawing New Generation star. Compared to Austin or Hogan, no he didn't, but we have to remember the era-- WW(F) had lost all 4 of their biggest draws (Hogan, Warrior, Savage and Flair) between 93 and 94, and that's when all the scandals and controversy surrounded WWF. I feel the same way about HBK (tho his later numbers made up for his earlier ones)-- the fact that he drew AT ALL in 1996 is a miracle. WCW owned 1996

@thewholefinshow mid-card? get real. He didn't draw, true, but WCW was kicking ass like you said. Bret Hart drew well, but only at first. His numbers after he took the belt from Diesel (before he dropped it to Shawn) were bad too- so it wasn't just HBK. If you look at his run from 2002-on, he drew a lot better. SS02 had like the biggest summerslam buyrate of all-time, and that was cuz of Rock/Brock and HBK. Hell, WM25 was sold on HBK/Taker alone, can't deny that

@peterp21 eh, not all of us. HBK is my favorite, and I'll certainly try to defend him if it's reasonable, but I'm a very realistic person. For example, I'll defend HBK's place in the Montreal Screwjob, but I won't defend him having Vader or Tatanka buried (altho I can't say that I ever saw Tatanka making it as far as Shawn anyway). I think he's an amazing performer and has had many legendary, iconic matches and moments, but I also know he didn't draw for shit compared to Bret or Steve.

I gotta say, in my years of watching YouTube videos and reading the comments, HBK fans are almost on a par with Michael Jackson fans in terms of their obsession and rabid defense. Shit, forget ripping HBK to pieces verbally, you can't even critique the guy as anything other than the greatest superstar icon to ever grace the ring with the greatest moveset ever, and the greatest money drawing world champ EV-AR without his nutso fans insulting you or threatening to kick your ass for it.

Bryan Clark was so misused, his adam bomb gimic was great, I loved it as a kid, He really showed have given the push he deserved.
