@eurekason In the tradition of Japanese story telling, the Eureka Seven film is completely unrelated to the original story. In the same way that each Gundam series takes place in a difference reality with similar themes and characters - Eureka Seven the movie is a different world, with a different story and character arcs. These are at their cores the same basic characters, but the writers have given a them different setting and a new opportunity to explore the series' themes: "rebirth."
