Soo many people give up on greyhounds, I read an article in a magazine by a vet who thought greyhounds shouldn't even be bred because they're too dangerous. I was disgusted so wrote to the magazine and in the next months issue there was a retraction, apparently thousands of people had done the same and even some suggested that the vet be struck off. The retraction however was half hearted, she blamed it all on a "bad day" and didn't take back anything she said.

I have loved greyhounds all my life, I got my first last year from a small (but well filled) adoption centre called Tia in Halifax. He was a skinny nervous dog who would only go into one room of my house, a year on he is a changed man!
Greyhounds can easily be retrained because they constantly want to learn, please and have as many treats as possible.
A year on - this is how Pilot is doing!

  • Hi there loved this video! and it's lovely to see someone else knows how great greyhounds are we have four!

  • Wow four must be a handful? They are addictive though, and so so beautiful. I don't understand why people just don't think of them as possible pets.

  • Pilot Is Beautiful.

My 2 Greyhounds Live With A Small Terrier And Guinea Pig And A Parrot ? They Are NOT Dangerous Dogs They Are The Opposite They Are Too Soft And Timid That's How They Are Easily Abused

    5/5 Fav

  • Thankyou so much, I love your profile! Josie is just gorgeous ^_^ I never dreamt of getting such an odd mix (size wise) of dogs but they really do go so well together.

  • Well There Is A Dispute At The Minute About Josie Lol Her Mother Is A Fell Terrier Her Half Sister A Fell Terrier But This Person Who Is A Judge/Breeder Of Fell Terriers Says Josie Is A Jack Russell Terrier ? So I Am Exploring The Origins Of Josie Lol.

  • Lol that sounds confusing! My smaller dog is (I think) a jack russell crossed with a lancashire heeler, but I have no idea as he's adopted! I went to Crufts easlier in the year and saw some Lancashire Heelers and he looks alot like them, so it's a huge guess really!

  • love this video, it shows that you shouldnt give up on a dog no matter what, we always rescue. rescueing a dog is like adopting a child, even though they wernt born into the family, they are still a big part of it.

  • FANTASTIC VIDEO , I PICK MY GREYHOUND UP TOMMOROW, THANKYOU VERY MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO,

  • All Greyhounds should live four score years and ten......but they dont. If you never hurt before, you will if you lose one of these amazing creatures.

  • What a greyt dog! I love my Greyhound!

  • the best dogs to have im on my second and they are such loving loyal pets

  • What is wrong people???? I can't believe that idiot vet suggested greyhounds were dangerous. Yes, they are sighthounds and chase small prey, but many greyhounds around the word live with small dogs, cats, rodents, etc.

That vet should be ashamed. Greyhound makes excellent housepets and are notoriously easygoing and fun.

  • 00:44 made me smile. :)

  • lovely

  • great video. we adopted two. best thing we have ever done.
